Though I'd like to eat icecream and lay in bed all day forever, fall is quickly approaching, and this also calls for a change in the things we wear.
Below, I've listed basic fall fashion essentials you'll need this season.
Fall Essential #1: A White Long Sleeved Shirt
What I love about white long sleeved shirts is that they are very basic, very affordable, and go with most pieces of clothing. My favorite fall look with a white long sleeved shirt would have to be a denim circle skirt and oxfords, because it's a very cute and comfortable yet modest look. You can find white long sleeved shirts at stores with "Basics" lines like Forever 21, American Apparel, Wet Seal, etc.

Fall Essential #2: Combat Boots
I love the timeless, edgy look of combat boots. I always have. Every single color of combat boots I have seen has worked for me. Though I prefer dark brown or black, combat boots come in florals, pastels, neons, anything you can think of really. My favorite brand of combat boots has to be Doctor Marten's, which I must admit are pretty pricy. I have seen similar boots in a sort of vinyl material at Target for around 30 dollars though, so if you love the look and feel of Docs, there is another option. Though, for those of you who prefer more basic boots, I love Dollhouse's combat boots (40 dollars) and the selection of boots at Modcloth, (which by the way, sells really cute vintage inspired dresses!).

Fall Essential #3: Blazers
Blazers are very cute but formal looking jackets that can be worn with skirts or jeans, most of the time, even dresses. They add a hint of office-style sophistication without the huge price tag, depending on where you shop. I love the blazers at Forever 21 and Topshop. Topshop's ponte blazers come in cute colors and are very easy to dress up or down. I like wearing blazers with darker colors so that the blazer makes the outfit pop, (i.e. black peplum dresses, black lace sleeve tops, etc.). I really like the use of black in the photo below. It's so simple yet the band tee-shirt and stockings really make the outfit something unique.

Fall Essential #3: Over The Knee Socks
I cannot stress enough how much I love the look of over the knee socks with cable knit sweaters and pleated skirts in the fall. It's so adorable and if I could wear it year round, I definitely would. Over the knee socks do not always have to be worn with skirts, though. I also like how they look with shorts, skater dresses, and circle skirts. I love how they look with boots in particular, though they look especially nice with wedges, creepers, and brogues. The style combinations are really endless if you use your imagination.

Fall Essential #4: Boyfriend Cardigans
Boyfriend cardigans add the perfect balance of menswear-inspired edge to any fall outfit. What I love about them is how comfy they can be. You can really lose yourself in a boyfriend cardigan you love. Right now, I'm in love with the line of boyfriend cardigans on Asos, but since they're around 45 bucks each, I like buying cute boyfriend cardigans from Forever 21 and H&M and altering them myself. (Studding them, adding bow accents, etc.)

Fall Essential #5: Studded Crossbody Purses
The last thing on my list of fall style essentials is studded crossbody bags. They give off an edgy, rocker chic vibe and can usually hold a bottle of water, your wallet, etc. I look to Miu Miu, Marc Jacobs, Rebecca Minkoff and Sam Edelman for inspiration on what kind of bag I would like, but since their bags are well, expensive, I like going to places like Wet Seal, yesstyle.com and Topshop to find something similar. If you're feeling crafty, you can also stud the bag yourself! I love the way black leather crossbody bags look. They're neutral, so they go with most outfits, and if you stud them yourself/find a studded one, they're perfect for going out/going to school, depending on the size.

I hope you all enjoyed my list, and that it inspires you when you go fall shopping! x
